Magnolia Market Trip

First blog post ever! I have to start somewhere and this was a fun trip that I get asked about a lot. So here you go friends!

In January this year after heading to the Dallas Market, I talked my partner in crime into sneaking Waco into our trip. It didn't take much to convince Tracye we should go. All I had to do is promise coffee & Mexican food and she was in. We were so glad we went since we were already that close.

We parked behind the store across the railroad tracks. This wasn't a long walk at all. We got there shortly after they opened on a Friday. I had heard Friday & Saturday's can be quite busy.

Upon arrival of course we couldn't resist the famous "welcome" pic.  I went slow to take it all in, but Tracye disappeared instantly. I think she was looking for the #shiplap tee. ;)

Of course I love old books, who doesn't?  So I had to go and inspect this for awhile! I could have just pulled up a chair right here and stayed awhile, but since this was the entrance I decided to move along.

So many pretty displays. None of which are for sale though.

I would love to have a green house someday with something like this in it!

Loved all the reclaimed wood tables with metal legs. They were also not for sale, but everything on and under them were. By the time we were done shopping most of the tables had been emptied off by customers and filled back up by staff! Crazy, crazy, busy and so surprised at the amount of merchandise that flies out of there. A lot of which we sell at Very Violet Boutique! If you are a fixer upper fan, then you will love our little shop too!

The sun is deceiving because this was January and the winds were blowing. The chilly air didn't stop us from looking at the garden area and food trucks out back. I highly recommend the crepe truck. I enjoyed a few bites of mine before the wind picked it up and threw it in the Texas dirt! So my advice, hold onto it for dear life if the wind is blowing, because they were that good. :)

Right behind the main store is a huge warehouse space that was full of items for sale as well. The day we were there it was a "clearance" area. Some items were broken or dented but if you get lucky, you can buy some items that didn't end up staying in the homes after the "reveal" episode. I'll share my goodies after my home remodeling is complete as my house is packed up this month.

I couldn't make the trip without taking home one of Joanna's signature candles.

I loved the old Post Office Box and bench at the entrance of the store. We were told that Chip & Joanna were doing a new house reveal the day we were there at the store shopping. So of course we did not run into them.

We had a fun experience and are really glad we got there when we did, because by the time we left it was really crowded. The line for the indoor bathroom was about 35 people deep and shoulder to shoulder shopping. I snuck to the outside bathroom which was heated and clean with no wait.😉 Tracye was starting to look "hangry"!  If you know anyone that gets "hangry",  you know your shopping has to be wrapped up fairly quickly at that point. After all, I had promised her Mexican food hours before. So timing was perfect for us!

This is going to be Joanna's cute little bakery. It sits right next to the Silos. They hadn't done much to it while we were there. Now they are in full force and it's looking really sweet!

Last stop after lunch was at Common Grounds Coffee. Located right across from Baylor University and quit the hip hangout for college friends and now Fixer upper fans. :) Staff was very friendly, and we enjoyed sitting outside on the old furniture.   So let me know if you have any questions. It was a quick trip and so glad we were able to sneak off for the day to see what all the fuss was about. If I get another opportunity I would love to go back someday soon. xoxo~ Melissa
